Oven Cleaning Christchurch & Selwyn

Kia ora — I’m Kim, and ovens are my craft. From my home base in Darfield I travel right across the Selwyn District and into Christchurch, bringing tired, greasy, please-don’t-look-in-there ovens back to something worth showing off.

There’s no call centre and no crew of strangers. When you book me, you get me — the person who answers the phone is the person who turns up at your door and does the work. It’s been that way for the better part of a decade, and along the way my neighbours have said kind things: every single one of the 24 people who’ve reviewed Kim’s Oven Cleaning on Facebook recommends me. That record matters more to me than any advert ever could.

What an oven clean with me includes

I do the whole cavity properly, not a quick wipe around the edges:

  • Racks and shelves out — every one of them treated by hand, not swished and slid back in damp.
  • Trays, pans and grill parts — baked-on carbon softened and lifted.
  • The full interior — sides, back, roof, floor and around the fan cover where grease hides.
  • The door — glass cleaned inside and out, and on many ovens the door comes apart or off so the panels between the glass actually get cleaned instead of admired from a distance.
  • Seals, edges and surrounds — wiped down, crumbs gone.
  • A check before I go — everything reassembled correctly and the oven tested so you’re not discovering my visit didn’t agree with it next time you bake.

How a visit works

  1. You ring, text or message me with what you’ve got — single oven, double, wall oven, range cooker.
  2. I give you a straight quote before anything is booked. No obligation.
  3. On the day, I bring everything with me. You don’t need to supply a thing beyond power point access.
  4. The racks and trays come out to soak, the interior gets hand-treated section by section, the door gets proper attention.
  5. Everything rinsed, dried, reassembled and tested. Your kitchen gets left as tidy as I found it — the mess leaves with me.

Because I use eco-friendly products there are no harsh chemical smells hanging around afterwards. Your kitchen is ready to cook in again straight away — which matters when that oven feeds a household.

Why bother getting it done?

An oven caked in old grease and burnt-on spills isn’t just unsightly. It smokes when it heats up, it can taint the flavour of everything else you roast, and heavy baked-on grease is exactly the sort of stuff you don’t want sitting at high temperatures in a family kitchen. Left long enough, carbon layers get harder to shift — the job everyone puts off only becomes a bigger job.

The proof, not the promise

“What a lovely treat to come home to a sparkling, like new, oven. Great job.” — Robyn P., Facebook review

That review captures what I aim for on every job. My before-and-after photos tell the rest — real Canterbury kitchens, including ovens written off as too far gone. I let the photos do the boasting; I’ll just keep showing up and doing the work.

Professional results at affordable prices

“Professional oven cleaning at affordable prices” has been my promise since day one, and it still is. Every job is quoted upfront based on your oven and its condition — you’ll know the full figure before I start, and it won’t grow on the day. Ring me for a free, no-obligation quote and a straight answer.

Frequently asked questions

How much does oven cleaning cost? It depends on your oven — type, size and how much history it’s carrying — so I quote each job individually before booking. Quotes are free, there’s no obligation, and the price I quote is the price you pay. Call or text 021 054 4661 and describe what you’ve got.

Do I need to do anything before you arrive? Just clear out anything being stored in the oven (we all do it) and make sure I can reach a power point. Everything else — products, gear, know-how — travels with me.

Is it safe around children and pets? That’s exactly why I chose eco-friendly products. No harsh chemical smells lingering in the room where your family eats, and everything is rinsed through so surfaces are ready to cook on when I leave.

Do you clean hobs and rangehoods too? By arrangement, yes — ask when you book. Details on my hobs and rangehoods page.

Which areas do you cover? Darfield, Kirwee, Rolleston, West Melton, Hornby, Christchurch and the wider Selwyn District and Canterbury. See my service area pages for details — if you’re close to any of those towns, just ask.
