End of Tenancy & Pre-Sale Oven Cleaning

The oven has a special role in moving day misfortune: it’s the appliance most likely to be pointed at when a property manager walks through with a clipboard. Everything else in the house can look immaculate — but a cavity still wearing last winter’s roasts is the sort of detail that turns “final inspection” into “final inspection, round two.”

If you’re ending a tenancy, managing one, or putting a home on the market somewhere between Darfield and Christchurch, I can take the oven off your worry list. It’s some of the work I enjoy most, because the transformation is dramatic and the relief on the other end is real.

For tenants: protect the bond

Most tenancy agreements ask for the property returned in much the state you found it — and ovens are expected to come back properly clean, not “had a go with oven spray” clean. The trouble is that by moving week you’re packing boxes, redirecting mail and living off takeaway, and the oven is precisely the job that needs soak time and patience nobody has left.

That’s where I come in:

  • Racks, trays and every interior surface treated by hand — including the baked-on layers supermarket spray gives up on.
  • Door glass cleaned properly, inside the panels too where the model allows, because that’s exactly where an inspector looks.
  • Eco-friendly products — no chemical smell greeting the next person who opens the door.
  • A tidy finish — I leave the kitchen as found, apart from a noticeably better oven.

I can’t promise what any particular property manager will say about any particular property — nobody honestly can. What I can promise is an oven cleaned to the standard you’d want to hand over, which removes the argument before it starts.

For landlords and property managers: between tenancies

A professionally cleaned oven photographs better, shows respect for incoming tenants, and sets the benchmark for how you expect the property maintained. If you manage rentals across Rolleston, West Melton or wider Selwyn, book me between tenancies and I’ll have the oven inspection-ready before the new folk get keys. Regular customers are welcome — once I’ve done one property for you, repeat bookings are a quick message away.

For sellers: don’t let the oven undermine the kitchen

Kitchens sell homes, and buyers absolutely do open oven doors at viewings — it’s almost a reflex. A spotless cavity says “this home has been looked after”; a carbon-crusted one quietly contradicts everything else the staging is trying to say. More on this in my pre-sale oven guide.

Book ahead — future-you will be grateful

Inspection weeks fill with everything else, so the earlier the oven’s booked, the smoother it goes. Ring me once you know your move-out or listing date and I’ll line up a time well before the clipboard arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Will a professional clean guarantee my bond back? No honest cleaner can guarantee another person’s decision. What I guarantee is effort and standard: the oven handed back genuinely deep-cleaned — racks, glass, cavity, the lot. That’s the version of events that makes these conversations short.

When should I book? As soon as your date exists. Booking early means the clean happens before the chaos of moving week, not during it — and if anything needs a second look after inspection, there’s room to sort it calmly.

Do you do rental properties between tenants? Happily. Landlords and property managers are regulars — ring 021 054 4661 with the property details and I’ll quote and schedule around your turnaround.

What does it cost? Every job is quoted upfront based on the oven and its condition — free quote, no obligation, price agreed before I start.
